Car Rental:
We always use www.kemwel.com to book our car rentals in advance. They have always had the best rates, and we have never had a problem with them.
Car rental pickup points:
- Perugia airport: hours are M-F 8 am - 1 pm, 3-7 pm, Sat. 8 am - 12:30 pm, closed Sundays.
- Rome airports:
Fiumicino: 7 am - midnight, 7 days
Ciampino: 8 am - midnight, 7 days
- Florence Peretola Airport: 8 am - 11 pm, 7 days
Train
Take the train to Gualdo Tadino. The house is about 2 km. (1.2 miles) from the station, from where you can take a taxi or ride the bus.
- From Perugia: 1 1/4 - 2 hours (train goes to Foligno first). Take the shuttle from Sant'Egidio Airport to the Perugia train station.
- From Rome: 3 1/4 - 3 1/2 hours from airports
- From Florence: 3 1/2 - 5 hours (depending on the train you take)
- From Milan: 5-8 1/2 hours (depending on the train you take)
You can buy tickets online at www.trenitalia.com. Please note, however, that tickets for Gualdo Tadino cannot be purchased from this source more than a week in advance of travel. (This is not a problem, however.)
